Last year the, rainfall registered in Eketahuna was 78.68 inches, as against 57 k 91 inches for 1906. During the past year rain fell on 162 days! while in, the previous year rain fell on 154 days. Captan Edwin issued the following forecast at 9 a.m. yesterday for the subsequent 24 hours # Wind—Moderate to strong from the east at all places north of East Cape, Taupo and Kawhia, and from the westward thence to Napier; strong to gale from the northward after from 12 to 20 hours, then southward to Hokitika and Dunedin, but from the westward soon elsewhere. Barometer. Little movement northward of Napier and New Plymouth ; fall soon everywhere else. Rain. —There are indications for rain southward of Westport. Warning signals for northerly gale is exhibited at Nugget Point, and will be shown after sunrise at Capes Campbell, Foulwind, and Farewell Spit.
