THE AUCKLAND TQUNAMENT. (By Telegraph—Special Reporter). AUCKLAND, January 7. The Masterton rinks, playing on the Auckland green, Graftpn Road, to-day, met Remuera and won both games—No 1. rink by 25 to 13, and No. 2 rink by 23 to 20. In the match against Carlton the Masterton No 1. rink lost by 17 to 21, and No 2. rink lost by 14 to 21. Masterton lost in the aggregate by 31 to 42. Against Newtown, Masterton No. 1 rink lost by 14 to 31, and No. 2 rink lost by 14 to 16. On the aggregate, Masterton lost by 28 to 47. The match against Carlton was a keen one. No 1. rink held a lead till the 20th head and then lost. No 2. rink stood—Masterton 1, Carlton 15 on the 12th head. Then the Masterton rink made a good up hili fight, and almost equalled matters, out Carlton eventually won. Carlton, so far, have not lost a match. Masterton play Victoria, Karori and .Waverley on Wednesday, on the Ponsonby green. The weather has been beautiful, so far, and looks like continuing so.
