DEFENCE RIFLE CLUBS' ASSOCIATION. The annual rifle meeting of the Wellington Defence Rifle Clubs' Association was held at Trentham on Thursday. There was a good muster of riflemen, the Karori, Pecone, Upper Hutt and Opaki Rifle Clubs being well represented. There were also a number of Volunteers present. The weather was beautifully fine, with a fresh northerly breeze. The shooting was very good all through, and some first-class scores were registered. The grand aggregate —all shooting in all matches was won by Rifleman King, of Opaki, with 253. For this he, receiver, the gold medal presented by Mr W. H. Field, M.P.; Rifleman M'Lachlan, of Petone, gained second place with 247; Rifleman Hyde, of Opaki, gained third place, with 243. Opaki, with a score of 1,200, won the five men's teams match; Petone No. 1 was second with 1,169, and Uppor Hutt third with 1,126.
