At 9 a.m., yesterday, Captain Edwin issued the following forecast for the subsequent 24 hours:— Wind.—Moderate to strong from the eastward at all places northward of Napier, Taupo, and Kawhia, and from everywhere else. Barrajter.—Fall slowly northward of Nan* and New Plymouth; little movement from thence southward. Rain is probable northward of East Cape, Taupo. and Manukau Heads.
