ADDINGTON STOCK SALES.

At the Aldington live stock market to-day there were fairly large entries of stock and a numerous attendance, i many farmers being present to see "*" how fat lambs were selling. Fat cattle were withuut change. Fat lambs were firm at the previous week's rates, and fat sheep, though irregular, were without change. There was a fa"ir demand for store sheep, especially forward wethers. • Pigs of al) classes were easier, and there was a fair demand for dairy and s|ore cattle. The entry of store sheep was larger than for several weeks past, and there was a little demand, forward wethers being wanted chiefly. Prices were, however, about the same as the previous week. The entry of fat lambs was rather larger than last week, and the qual- j ity was better, there being a smaller j , proportion of unfinished lots. There was a fair demand for export, and prices remained without change, though the sale was rather brisker. Tegs made 17s to 18s 9d, freezingweights 14s to 16s 9d, and unfinished lots lis to 13s 6d. j The entry of fat sheep was rather j larger than last week, and included J some prime lines of wethersi The j sale was irregular, but, prices generally showed no change, the demand being entirely for local consumption. Extra prime wethers maue 21s to 22s 3d, prime 13s to 20s 9d, lighter 16s to 17s 6d, prime ewes 16s 6d to 19s, medium 14s to 16s, aged 9s to 13s 6d. The supply of beef was made up of 210 hear] of useful sorts, the numbers being much smailer than the previous week. Tha sale was brisker, though there was no actual change in values. Among the sales were —For a North Island client, 16 steers £9 f 153 to £ll 10s; J. F. Buchanan, Little River, 7 steers at £lO to £ll ss; J. an! J. O. Coop, Little River, 14 steers at £9 5s to £11; J. Dean's j estate, Riceartun, two heifers at £9 2s 6d and £lO, and one cow £B. Other steers brought £6 2s 6d to £l2 • 2s 6d, heifers £5 17s 6d to £lO, cows £4 10s to £B—equal to 25s to 27s 6d for prime and 21s to 24s for medium per 1001b. i There was a medium entry of store cattle, made up of small lots, princi- j pally dry cows. There was a fair enquiry at the following rates:—Yearlings 19s, 15 to 18-month at 2fs to 295, 2-year heifers 25s 6d to £2 7s 6cl, 3-year steers £4 13s Gd, 3-year heifers £3 ss, dry cows 25s to £4 • 10s.

The dairy cows showed rather more condition, and prices were without change, selling at £3 10s to £7. There was an average yarding of pigs. The demand ,was slack, and prices much lower.. Baconers made 50s to 60s, equal to 5d to sid per lb; porkers, 36s to 48s, equal to 5d to 5Jd per lb; large stores 30s to 355; medium 26s to 295; baconers 15s to 255.
