RACING.
WAIKANAE NOMINATIONS. Nominations for all events at the Waikanae Hack Racing Club's annual race meeting, to be run on New Year's Day, will close with the secretary, Mr James A. iVluir, Waikanae, at|B o'clock on Saturday next, December 7th. PAHJATUA RACING CLUB. The annual race meeting < of the Pahiatua Racing Ciub will be held on the club's course at Pahiatua on Wednesday and Thursday, January 29th and 30th, 1908. The sum of £l,lOO has been allotted in stakes, £595 on the first day and £505 on the second day. The principal events on the first day are the Pahiatua Cup of 165 sovs and the Railway Handicap of 100 sovs. On the second day the most important races are the Racing Club Handicap of 115 sovs and the Stewards' Handicap of 70 tovs. There is no race on the programme, which is published in another eo«u nn, of a less value than 50 sovs. Nominations for all events will close with the secretary, Mr G. L. Hawley Drew,, on Monday, January 6th, at 9 p.m. The weights for the first day will be declared on or about Monday, January 13th, and acceptances for the first day will close on Friday, January 17th, at 9 p.m.
