HOTEL METROPOLE TRAGEDY.
THE INQUEST. 5 MYSTERY STILL UNRAVELLED Received November 21, 10.21 p.m. SYDNEY, November 21. The inquest on the bodjes of Mr and Mrs Lister King, the victims of the HjOtel Melropole iragedy, did little to t lucidate the mvstery. The medical evidence c'eclared that there was no traces of prussic acid, but the volatile poison odor might have gone. A sister of Mrs King gave evidence that the latter failing to keep an appointment, she visited the Hotel Metropole and was informed that Mr and Mrs King were asleep. After waiting for a time, she entered the room and discovered the dead bodies. Mrs King was cheerful when she arranged-the appointment. A r brother of the deceased lady, said that Mrs King intended to come to Sydney with some friends, yesterday, but her husband alleged that urgent business induced her- to accom ■ pany him to the city. Mrs King was in good health. There was -no truth in the statement that she intended to enter a private' hospital. She had a separate estate, but encumbered it on behalf of her husband. Witness had received information since the tragedy thai King was in financial difficulties to the extent of about £I,OOO.
