NATIVE WEDDING AT WHAKATAKI.
(From a Correspondent). A wedding, which excited considerable interest in the district was celebrated at Wftakataki, on Thursday afternoon last, the contracting parties being Miss Loui Hanairo, a well-known native girl of Whakataki, and Mr Hikavvera Akuhata. The bride, who was given away by her uade, Mr Robert Hanairo, was attiierHn a handsome dress of white silk, and wore the usual veil and orange blossoms, and carried a large bouquet. She was attended by four bridesmaids, the two Misses Roigard, who wore pale green silk dresses. and white picture lints, and Misses May Hanairo and Annie Tuhou, who were dressed in cream silk with hats to match. Mr W. Roigard was best man, and the ceremony was performed by the Rev. J. H. Sykes, of Tinui. After the ceremony a reception was held at the Marine Hotel, WJiakataki, where a large number of guests were entertained.
