UNREST IN INDIA.
MEETINGS PROHIBITED. BOMBAY, October 11. In order to prevent disturbances on the anniversary of Bengal's partition. Calcutta has been * declared a proclaimed area, and meetings prohibited. Received October 13, 4.14 p.m. BOMBAY, October 12. The Legislative Council are about to enact a permanent measure applicable to any province as the Viceroy may decide to prevent seditious meetings.
