. -♦ (From Our Own Correspondent.) Tuesday. The report of the directors of the Wairarapa Bacon anc 1 Freezing Company, to be presented at the annual meeting on October 22nd, is as follows : —Your directors present to you herewith the balance-sheet for the eleven months ending August 31st, 1907. Notwithstanding the increased amount of business done during the above period, compared with previous years, there has again been a loss upon the season's work. The directors, after fully considering the position, wish the shareholders to empower them either— (1) To lease the factory as a going concern; (2) to sell the property, or buildings, and plant of the Company. You will be required to elect two directors in heu of Messrs Daysh and Ordish, who retire by ballot, but are eligible for re-election. You will, also, be asked to elect and fix the remuneration of an auditor. The fortnightly meeting of the Rechabite Tent, 1.0. R., was held in the Rechabite Hall, last evening. There was a fair attendance of members, and Bro. W. Tucker, D.R., presided in the absence of the C.R. One member was reported on and one off the sick list. One member was initiated into the Order. Bros. W. Stevens, L. Pearce, T. W. Foster, E. King and V. Fairbrother, were appointed additional delegates on the Friendly Societies' Sports Committee. The following report of the directors of the Wairarapa Brick, Ti'e and Drain Pipe Company will be presented at the annual meeting to be held on the 15th inst.:—We beg to submit herewith the eighth annual report and balance sheet, and are pleased to say that a good profit is shown on the year's working. Your directors recommend a dividend of 8 per cent., and after having made provision for bad debts and directors' fees, writing off the balance £126 3s 7d as depreciation on iactory, Kilns and machinery. Mr C. J.. Smith, who has been our manager for the past four year*;, has resigned his position, and Mr J. M. Nicholls has been appointed to the position. You will be called upon to elect two directors in place of Messrs A. H. Krahagen and T. G. Underhill, who retire by rotation, but being eligible, offer themselves for re-election. You will,, also, be called upon to elect an auditor. Mr H. W. Kempton, presided at the monthly meeting of the Belvedere School Committee, held in the Schoolhouse last evening. Mr McFarlane, headmaster, reported that Miss Bremnan had commenced her duties as assistant teacher. It was decided to petition the Education Board for funds towards the cost of repairs to the school property. Bro. J. M. Nicholls, A.D., presided at the fortnightly meeting of the Totara Lodge, U.A.0.D., held in the Foresters' Hall, last evening. The proposed football match against the Ekctahuna Lodge was postponed. Bro VValh's was elected to the V.A.B. chair, Bro. Thomas having resigned. Bro. Wallis was appointed to represent the Lodge on the Friendly Societies' Sports Committee in place of Bro. J. M. Nicholls, resigned.
