ODDFELLOWS' SOCIAL.
The Masterton Oddfellows' Lodge held their last social of the season in the Foresters' Hall, last evening, when there was an attendance of between 70 and 80 couples. All the socials held by the Lodge this season have proved popular, and last night's gathering was no exception. The floor was in capital order, and the dancing, which proved enjoyable, was kept up until an early hour this morning. The music was provided by Mr S. Ballard and extras were played by Miss N. O'Leary, and Messrs N. McEwen, F. McKenzie and H. Cole. The duties of M's.C. were carried out by Messrs E. McCord and W. Darvill. An excellent supper was provided'by an energetic committee, who also carried out the other arrangements in connection with the gathering in a praiseworthy manner. During the evening songs were sung by Messrs R. Henry, W. Norman, D. Walsh, N. McEwen, C. McEwen, F. Sammes and F. L. Hallam. The hon. secretary,. Mr W. L. Carrick, worked untiringly to ensure the enjoyment of those present, and much of the success of the function is due to his efforts.
