CASTLEPOINT COUNTY COUNCIL.
The ordinary meeting of the Castlepoint County Council was held on Saturday last. There were present: —Crs a. J. Speedy, chairman, Langdon, Richardson, Ryder, limes and Foreman. The Department of Roads wrote with regard to the width of road to be formed from Tinui Valley to Pakowai, and obtaining signature to the tracing of the road at Black Swamp. Mr H. McPhee wrote in reply, stating that he would come to inspect the localities when required. Mr N. Mcßae applied for an alteration to be made to a drain in his paddock in Mangapakeha. A letter was received from Mr John Barton with guarantee of initial expenses in raising loan should poll not be carried. Mr George Pain requested that his name should be put on the rate book for the Tanewha property lately purchased from Mr O'Connor. The Chief Health Officer forwarded a list of local authorities who have to contribute to the hospital for the reception and treatment of those suffering from infectious diseases. Councillors Richardson and Innes were appointed to sign the rate book. Accounts amounting to £232 9s 4d were passed for payment.
