CARTERTON.
| (From Our Own Correspondent.) August 13tii. A cold drizzling rain set in this morning, and it is evident that the ground has received a thorough soaking, judging by the quantity of surface water lying about. A practice match between the "A" and "B" hockey teams will take place on Carrington Park on Thursday. The fortnightly meeting of the Rechabite Lodge was held in the Rechabite Hall, last evening, there being a very fair attendance of members. Bro. A. Petersen, C.R., presided. A large amount of routine business was transacted. Bros. King, W. Partridge, W. Tucker, F. W. Foster and H. Pearce were appoin ijd a committee to confer with the riasterton Tent on patters respecting the district meermg. A meeting of the Totara Lodge, U.A.0.D., was held, last evening, Bro. Nicholls, A.D., in the chair. Bro. Grant, a visitor, spoke on the progress of the Order, and commented on the number of branches that were being formed all over the colony. One new member was received into the Order, and two friends were proposed for membership. After the business of the meeting had been transacted, a pleasant social evening was spent.
