A GENEROUS DONATION.

A HOME FOR SIXTY BOYS. By Telegraph—Press Association. NEW PLYMOUTH, August 12. With regard to the announcement recently made of an offer by an Eltham gentleman to the Salvation Army of an area of land and an equipped home for boys, it has transpired that the donation has been made by Mr T. Jenkins. The proposed site is ten acres in the town of Eltham, and is intended as a home to accommodate sixty boys, to be equipped," in some respects, better than the Girls' Home in Wellington. The estimated cost is £3,000. The Home will be worked as a model farm, under a qualified agriculturist, but opportunity will be given to the boys to learn any trade they desire. The institution is intended by the founder primarily for orphans, but waifs, lacking parental care, will, also, be admitted.
