MASTERTON HOSPITAL TRUSTEES.
MONTHLY MEETING,
The monthly meeting of the Masterton Hospital Trustees was held yesterday morning. There were present. :—Messrs A. W. Hogg* M.H.R. (chairman), J. C. Ewingtou, W. Fisher, W. Harris and 1L J.. H. Jackson. The Treasurer reported iis follows : > —Receipts £1,037 16s 2d.; disbursements, £1,143 4s 2d; cr. .balance at last meeting, £2.76 4s cr balance at date, £l7O 16s 7d. Accounts amounting to £69 19s were passed Jor payment. A letter from Mr A. R. Miller with reference to an automatic gate at the hospital was held over until next meeting. A list of articles required i for the furnishing of the new j hospital submitted by the matron, and estimated to cost £145, was referred to a committee consisting of the Chairman and Messrs Ewington, Harris and Keith. Messrs Crichton and Mackay, architects for the new hospital, wrote stating that the contractors, Messrs Coradine and Whittaker, had been seriously delayed with the work of -.the new building, owing to minor fittings not coming to hand, and for which the contractors were not responsible. The letter recommended that Messrs Coradine and Whittaker sshould be paid the 25 per cent, lien :monoy provided an indemnity was given by the contractors. The Trustees decided to carry out the architect's recommendations as soon£ as the Government grant was received. .The question of considering ways and means of erecting a morgue and aiecessary outbuildings at the new .hospital was referred to the Cha'rman and Messrs .Ewington, Keith and iHarris, with instructions to submit ;a report to the next meeting of the 3Srustees. Mr J. B. Keith was appointed Visiting Trustee for the month.
