STOCK MARKET.
Messrs Dalgety and Company, Ltd., report on their Eketahuna stock sale, held on Friday,24th inst.as follows: — All sheep entered came forward, also cattle. Bidding for sheep started dull, but before many pens were offeredjbidders warmed up. All sheep sold, also cattle, except five cows. We quote—Ewes in lamb 12s 6d to 17s 9c 1 , empty ewes 13s, fat ewes 16s 3d, 2 tooth wethers 15s Bd, 16s 9d, several pens at 17s to 17s 6d, lambs lis 6d to 12a 6d, culls 5s 8d to lis. Cattle: 3 year steers to £4 12s 6d, heifers 18 months to 30s, forward cows to £3 18s, weaners 235. We also held a clearing sale on Mr C. H. Fisher's farm. Sheep sold well; cows neglected. At Mr J. Harding's farm, Eketahuna, we had a good sale on Thursday, May 23rd. Buyers were present from Palmerston North, Woodville, Masterton, and other centres. Horses ai:d sheep sold at high prices. We quote—Ewes in lamb 22s lOd, rams to 1 guinea. Horses: Heavy draughts £3l 15s to £6O 10s; medium horses, £24 10s to £3O; mares with foals £22, 2-year draughts to £27; hacks £4 2s 6d upward?. Cattle: Cows to £5 2s 6d, heifers 25s to £3. Poultry, implements, furniture, etc., brought good prices.
