(From Our Own Correspondent.)' Saturday. On the eve of his marriage Mr G. Bruce was the recipie nt of a handsome gift from the members of the Church, also a present from the Sunday School pupils? He'has been superintendent of the Sunday School for aboilt 20 years. , An employee on the railway, residing here, had the misfortune to bruise his leg a day or so back, which, turned to blood poisoning and necessitated his removal to the hospital. The daily supply of milk to the New Zealand Dairy Union has decreased to about 140 gallons. The tests for the week are: —Highest~4.2, lowest 3.8, average 4. The company paid out £172 0s 2d for butteijfat supplied in March. The largest cheque to one supplier was £33 14s 4d. The creamery will be closed about the end of May. Messrs Donovan Bros, were the successful tenderers for the lease of the 196-acre block of Maori reserve, previously leased by Mr A. Cottle, the rent being 8s 7d per acre.
