Received April 26, 11.46 p.m. MELBOURNE, April 26. A deputation of Queensland Senators interviewed the PostmasterGeneral, and urged consideration of Queensland's claims in connection with the re-arrangement of the Vancouver service. The Senators said that they were apprehensive lest the New Zealand Government's proposal to join the new contract might result in the exclusion of Queensland us a port of call. Mr Chapman promised that Queensland's claiips would receive complete consideration. He subsequently stated that the present negotiations would have in view an improved service with a better class of boats. The Union Company were building some new boats, but it was'unlikely that fresh steamers would be immediately run on the line if the contract was completed.
