LONDON MARKETS. By Telegraph —Press Association. Received January 28, 9 a.m. LONDON, January 27. The New Zealand meat market is unchanged. River Plate beef: Forequarters, 2|d; hindaaurters, 3fd. _ Wool is in good competition, with small offerings. Prices are unchanged. RS over T, 12Jd; catalogued to date, 116,323 bales, and 111,508 have been sold.
HIGH COMMISSIONER'S REPORT.
The Department of Industries and Commerce has received the following cablegram from the High Commissioner, dated London, January 26th: The butter market is dull on account of the heavy arrivals. Some holders of butter are enforcing sales. Choicest New Zealand brands are quoted at 105s, Argentine 104s, Australian 100s and Danish 114s per cwt. The cheese market is very firm. There is a general demand for New Zealand makes at 63s per cwt. The hemp market is firm, and prices have advanced. Good fair grade on the spot is quoted at £4O; January-March shipments £39 per ton; fair current Manilla on the spot is worth £43 per ton. The cocksfoot seed market is quiet, but firm, fright clean dressed seed, 171b to the bushel, is quoted at 48s per cwt.
