MASTERTON TRUST LANDS TRUST.
* MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of the Masterton Trust Lands Trustees was held, last evening, there being present —Messrs C. E. Daniell (chairman), E. Feist, T. Wagg and T. B. Michell. Apologies for absence were received from Messrs J. A. Renall and J. Hessey. The Treasurer 'reported a credit balance of £42 6s 2d. Mr J. Tait wrote thanking the Trustees for the assistance afforded to his son whereby the latter was enabled to prosecute his studies in Wellington. The Town Clerk wrote thanking the Trustees, on behalf of the Borough Council, for the grant in aid of the Tea Kiosk. The Town Clerk wrote enquiring whether the Trustees would contribute towards the cost of a footpath in Dixon Street near the ShowT grounds. It was decided to bear a share of the cost of the work. Mr J. Tait wrote asking the Trustees to connect his workship, which is situated near the Waipoua River, on Trust property, with the drainage system. The matter was referred to the Chairman and Mr Michell, with power to act. Mr J. W. Martin wrote applying for a rebate of the amount paid for the Town Hall on the occasion of the Keeble Benefit Concert. It was decided to make no refund. A letter was received from the Secretary of the Masterton South Band asking for. a rebate of the amount paid for the Town Hall for a concert in aid of the Band. It was decided to refund the amount charged, £2 2s. It was decided to accept an offer to re-decorate a set of scenery at the Town Hall for the sum of £lO. Accounts amounting to £143 5s 6d were passed for payment.
