PROVINCIAL CHAMPIONSHIP . MEETING.

WELLINGTON, January 1
The provincial championship meeting of the "Wellington Centre of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association took place to-day. H. E. Kerr put up a fine performance in the Mile Walk Championship, winning in 6min.26sec. This equals the world's amateur record, and establishes a New Zealand record. In the Handicap Three-mile Walk Kerr won by half a lap in 22min 38 2-ssec—a New Zealand amateur record. The championship events resulted as follows : One-mile Walk.—H. E. Kerr 1, P. J. Fitzgerald 2. Won by 300 yards. Time, 6min 26sec. Hundred Yards. —H. Henderson 1, F. Goodbehere 2, E. Fisher 3. Time, 10 l-ssec. , Half-mile.—J. Bradbury 1, W. 1 Gosling 2. 2min 3 3-ssec. 120 Yards Hurdles.—A. Halligan i; L. McKay 2* A. C. Williams 3. Time, 17sec. 220 Yards.—H. Henderson 1, E. Fisher 2, J. Wilton 3. Time, 23 2-ssec. One Mile.—J. Bradbury 1, W. Gosling 2, A. C. Murray 3. Time, 4min 4sec. 440 Yards.—E. Fisher 1, F. W. Goodbehere 2, J. Wilton 3. Time, 52 2-ssec. G. Tomassen, with 36ft sin and 88ft Bin, respectively, won putting the shot and hammer throwing.
