CELEBRATION OF THE « JUBILEE.

NELSON, December 27,

A three days celebration of the Jubilee of the Nelson College by the Old Boys' Association was commenced, to-night, in the new College Hall, when the Old Boys from all parts of the colony were present. Congratulatory telegrams and cables were received from various parts of the world including Old Country Universities.

There were three hundred present, and Dr Gibbs, President of the Association, occupied the chair. The speakers included Mr Hogben, Inspector-General of Schools; Mr Joynt, Registrar of the New Zealand University; Mr Fell, Chairman of the Governors; Mr Fowler, Principal; and the Hon. R. McNab, Minister of Lands. The latter spoke of the proof afforded by the Old Boys of the successs of the College, whose pupils were found in learned professions, literature, law, medicine, in agricultural, commercial, and industrial undertakings, while some were distinguished in science, his references being specially made to Professor Rutherford and Dr. Evans. The proceedings were marked by great enthusiasm. \
