Uenuku beat Grenade over a milo and aqnnrtor ou the fund in 2m in 14seo. Delnnia and Foiencst were together at tbe end of 7 furloucß on the course run in lmin 33 l-Saec. Golden Cairu was too good for Clanchattan ovor G furlongs on the course, run in lmin 19 2-ssec. Dau Leno and Baltimore were together as the end of 7 furlongs on the sand in lmin 32sen. Downfall, aloue, covered 6 furlongs en the coursa in lmin 27 1 saeo. Fontenoy only trotted. Armistioß was out only for walking exeroise, the mare showing signs or soreness. Douche was again an absentee. It is stated she struck herself. After breakfast rain fell but did not affect the tracks much. Pylades galloped 44 furlongs on the course In 52 3 sseo—a good gallop. Loch Erne easily beat St. Hai-p a round on the sand in 2min 4 2-ssec. "The Auckland Cup candidate Ghoorka arrived to-day, looking well. It is currently reported that Cambrian will most probably start in the Auckland Cup.
FOXTON RACING CLUB= ANNUAL RACE MEETING. The annual race fixture of the Foxtoa Racing Club will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday, January 22ud and 23rd next. Tbe jroflramme, whicn appears in another oolumn, shows that a liberal allotment of stakes has been made, giving a sum total of 1,500 sovs for the meeting, which ia 'an increase of 100 sova on the previous meeting. The principal events ou the first day aro tbe Foxtou Cup, 210 sovs; Plying Handicap, 150 sovs; and Henington Welter, 110 sovs. On the second day fop money is awarded to the President's Handioap, 135 sovs, and the Newmarket Handicap, 110 sov?. Tbe hack division has been most liberally dealt with, tbe Bakes varying from 60 sovs to 80 sovs. This popular Club, although it only holds one meeting a "year, makes every erdeavuur to give the iaoing oocmunity and the general public that measure of attention which ensures good racing and a largo attendance. Nominations for all eveuts except the Maiden Hack Hurdles, Trial Hack and Maiden -Sourry, oloee with the seoretaiy, Mr A. Keith, Foxton, at 9 p.m., on Saturday, January slh next.
