MASTERTON STOCK SALE . JREPOKTS.
The Mew Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report as follows on their fortnighly shook sale, yesterday: The yardinu in sheep was coflnerl to ewes and lambs and 2-tooth wethers and ewes all of which sold readily under the hammer. Cattle were well represented, all the yard* being filled, and the quality generally good. We had no diffioulty in making a clearance, with the exception of one or two old cows aud a pen of rough beef. 'Generally speaking cattle were a tiifle easier, particularly steers. Woolly ewes and lamfcs made 24a 9d, shorn ewes and lambs, all counted, Bs, dry ewes. 12s, 2-tooth mixed medium and poor 12s and 9s 7d, beef oows £i to £4 lOs, 2 to 3-year steers 60s to 755, 18-montn steers 503, yearlings 28s 6d to 40s, oows and calves 50s, dry oows 355, dairy oows 60s to 60s, heifers 35s to 40s, weacer pigs'los to 13e, porkers 19s lo 20s 6d.
Messrs DaJgety and Go. Ltd. held their fortnightly sale at Maaterton, on Wednesday, when there was a particularly heavy entry of cattle, .about 300 bullocks besides other cattle of all classes coming for ward. Sheep were represented by hoggets, these Helling from 13s 6d to 14s. The demand for oattle was easier than at recent sales. A considerable business had to te done privately, though a ,fair number •of salea were effected under the hammer. Forward 4-year bullflcks reached 110s, 3 and 4-.year tullocke 101s, 2, I V z -year steers 69s to 655, yearling steers AJs 6d, 18 month Polled Angus steers and heifers 535, cows and calves 58s 6d, 18 month heifers (good) 42a 6d, weaner pigs 14s to 14s 6d, porkerß '204.
