ALLEGED EMBEZZLEMENT.
LONDON, December 15. Alexander Peroival, who has been admitted to bail pending bis return to Melbourne on a charge of embezzlement, appeals against bis extradition. His present employer has offered to pay tbediffereuoe between the amount he is alleged to hava embezzled and the amount PeroivaJ had repaid to Trinity UoUege. (Poraival wa* formerlyAon, treasurer of Trinity College, Melbourne. He was charge J at the Bow Street Police Court under the Fugitive Offenders* Act with having misappropriated three cheques of £IOO, £2OO, and £56 14s, which he should have paid to the college'acoonnt. It was stated that since be bad been in England he had paid off £150).
