MASTERTON SCHOOL COMMITTEE.
MONTHLY MEEIING. The monthly meeting of the Mas terton School Committee was held last evening. Ihore were presentMessrs, R. Brown (chairman), 11, O'Leary, J. Carpenter, W. Gillespie, Il\ H. Waddington, G. Townßond, and W. A. Feudall. An apology for absence was received from Mr C. Perry. The Treasurer reported a credit balance of £lO3 14a 9d. A circular was received from the Traffic Superintendent of the Mew Zealand Railways stating that tbe Department had decided to carry school parties travelling to attend the Exhibition at tbe "Day School Party" rates. The Union Steam Ship Company waq prepared to carry boys in parties of not less than 700 and □ot more than 300 from the present, time to December 15th, ana from January 15th onward during the Exhibition. Tho return steamer fare from Wellington to Lyttelton would be 128, and tickets would be available for u week, the railway tickets holding good for nine days. Tbe circular was referred to the visiting members. The action of the sub-committee in re-appointing Mr i'ork as cleaner of the Uißtict High School was confirmed. amounting to £B7 9s 5d ' were passed fur payment. Messrs Kendall, Gillespie and O'Leary were appointed visiting members for the tnontb.
