SEVERE EARTHQUAKE.
. By Telegraph -Press Association. EKETABUNA, Deo. 8. A severe shook of earthquake waa felt here at 11.23 this ccorning, the direction being from east lowest. People were much alarmed, and rushed into the streets. Goods were shaken cff the shelves in shops. The shook lasted half a minute. Reports from the surrounding districts show that the shook was general and severe. WAIPAWA, Dec. 8. A sharp earthquake occurred this morning at sixteen minutes past eleven. WANGANUI, Deo, 8. A srrrarfi shook of erathquake, followed by a long tremor, was expert enced here at 11.20 this morning. A sharp shook of earthquake was felt in Wellington at 11.20 o'olook on Saturday morning. Preßß messages to hand show that the earthquake was severely felt at Woodville, Carterton, and several other places up-country. A sharp shock of earthquake waa felt at Masserton at 11.20 o'olook on Saturday morning.
