MONTHLY MEETING.
The monthly meeting of the Masterton Trust Lands Trustees was held last evening. There were presentMessrs (J. E. Dan'eli (chairman), J. Hessy, T. B. Michell and I'. Wagg. The Treasurer reported a dr. balance of £lO6 8a 3d. Accounts amounting to £SO lis Id, Including £33 6s Bd, tbe last instalment of tbe annual grant to the Technical School, »vere passed for payment. A deputation from the Masterton Municipal Brass Band waited on the Trustees and asked for a grant. The deputation pointed out that they had to pay £SO cowards tbe erection of a tea kmsk in tbe Park. Tbey had paid £25 ol' that amount and . ihey still bad to pay £25, while tbey only had £9 in hand. Practically the Baud, after paying their present liabilities, would be £2O in debt. On the motion of Mr ilessoy, it was decided to give the Band a grant of £2O. Tbe Chairman and (Secretary were authorised to take all neces ary steps towards taking a poll of the people for power to build on Trust properties.
