MISS MARIE NARELLE.
Commenting on a reoeni concert given by Miss Marie Narelle, the Freeman's Journal aays:—"Whether warblinK with expressive fidelity to the mood, a humorous love son# of an Irish boreen, or summon iug with fiery ardour the forces of Tryoonnel to the fury of the fray, as in 'O'Dinnell A boo,' Miss Narelle ex* presses the sonl and spirit of her song. 'Her four years' absence has' ripened, so to speak, the rich vocal qualities of her. soprano voice, whichjshe uses with all the ait and effectiveness of the experienced artiste. Ab a singer of the ballade beloved of the Celt, she ha-) no compeer, and in this respect she received from her owu folk in Sydney a splendid endorsement of the verdict already accorded her io other lands. Her reception by the large audience that filled the spacious hall was a triumph. It was for this time of triumph she had left home and country to fty;e the trials and strange environment in search of' 1 recognition. For some time she was kept bowing her acknowledgments as the waves of applause Purged through the hall. It was a reception weil worth the journey round the world to expericncfe. Mies Narelle oould not fail to realise that Sydney's heart held a warm corner for her."' Mies Narelle will sing in the Masterton Town Hall on Tuesday, December 11th. The box plan will open this morning, at nine o'clock at "Ihe Talkerius."'
