SENSATIONAL DISCLOSURES,
ESTIMATED DEFICIENCY OVER £25,000,
DEFICIENCIES IN TRUST
FUNDS.
Considerable interest was manifested yesterday in business circles throughout the Wairarapa when it was rumoured that the deficiencies in the bankrupt estate of Henry Stratton Izard, solicitor, of Greytown, amounted to a very large sum, and that included in the liabilities were large auras of trust money. As will be seen from the fol'owing list the prinoipal de floienuies in trust lands are:— Estate of Mahupuku. £16,000; Trustees Mrs S, Vennell, £1,800; W. O. Williams, Greytown, £2,050, and Leach Bros., Carterton, £1,390 10s.
The statement handed by bankrupt to the Deputy Official Assignee shows an estimated deQoieuoy of £25,595 18s, made op as follows: Liabilities Unsecured creditors, £28,664 ' 18s. Assets—Book debts estimated to produce £700; cash in hand, £4; property, £980; surplus from secured creditors, £1,385. Total, £3,069. The only seoured creditor is John Judd, of Greytown, farmer, who holds securities valued at £2,000 for a debt of £615. The list of unsecured creditors is as follows:—> Estate of Mabupuku, oare of H. The D.O.A. (Mr W. B. Ohennells) has arranged for the first meeting of creditors to be held at Grey town, on Tuesday next, when the bankrupt will be examined.
