MARIE NARELLE.
Of a recent coucort given in Wellington by Miss Murie ISarolle, who ia to eing at the Masterton Towu Hall on Tuesday, December IKb, the New Zealand Times says:— "Miss Narelle's first number amply justified all that has been said of her voice. It is a full, insilow soprano, pure in its intonation and of extended compass. She uses it with fine effect. In foite it is ringing nud clear, with a marvellous carrying power. In softer and more ton der phrases the tones are sweet and liquid. Without any suggestion of effort she gracefully works up a stiiriug crescendo, aud thdn with similar artless ease, the round dulcet tones die away into tne faintest whisper, yet her enunciation ia invariably distinct. Her phrasing is artistic in every respect. It is evident that, every number she interprets has teen made a serious study, and that the music of the composer has had in Miss Narelle juot only an intelligent, but also a cultured student. This gifted lady seems to take a particular delight in what may be called Irish folk songs, and as an exponent of this ever popular class o( national music, her equal has never been heard in Australia. In each number she was successful in delighting her audienoe, and eaoh number was greeted with spontaneous oheering." The box plan will open at "Tbo Talkeries," at 9 a.m. on Friday, D.eoember 7th.
