A man named Frederick Henry Woolfries, alias Dare, has been sentenced to eight months' imprisonment at the Liverpool.Assizes for libelling Mr Seymour Hicks, the well-known actormanager. t [The libel referred to in the above cablegram was contained in an amazing series of letters written by the accused to a barmaid concerning Mr Hicks and* Miss Phyllis Dare, a young lady under of age—allegations which were stigmatised by prosecuting counsel in the lower court as " exceptionally atrocious."! /
