Received November 30, ,8.30 a.m. LONDON, November 29 Lord Elgin, Secretary for the State for the Colonies, baa promised the Liverpool Chamber of Commerce that be will ascertain by telegraph the meaning of the Australian Industries Preservation Act. (It was oatled on Thursday that speakers at ibe Liverpool Chamber meeting described the Act Bfl unspeakable and pernicious and without a parallel. They urged that the King should veto the measure. The Act prescribes that imports and exports shall bear a trade description of their oohtents and ingredients).
