I RANGITIKEI RACING CLUB. Tbe Jubilee Summer meeting of the Rangitikei Racing Club is elsewhere announced to take place on the Bulls racecourse on January Ist and 2nd, 1907. The programme 1b an excellent one, and, given fine weather conditions, tbe meeting should be a great auooess. Eight events will be run each day, and tbe uhief attraction on the first day will be the Jubilee Rangitikei Cup of 250sovs and the Flying Handi cap and Makowai Welter Loth of llOsovaeacb. On the seoond day the GreaUord Stakes (175sova), Clifton Handicap and Raumai Walter (both HOaovs) should attraot good fields. Nominations for all events and entries for tbe Maiden Hack Race and Parewanui Hack Sourry will close with the Secretary, Mr H. A. Goodali, at tde office of tbe Club, Balls, on Saturday December Bth et 9 p.m. TUKF NOTES. (By Zetland). , I'be latest additions to M. Mo Giatb's team at Opaki are the Stepniak mare, Steptnnr, and Mahuta, by Mabaki—Spiing. The first named is a neat-shaped mare, showing plenty of quality, and tbe latter is a wsllgrown colt that may take time to show to advantage. Tbe Masterton-trained Submarine, Royal Blue, Letbertn, Scotch Reel, and Lissa- will leave for Feilding on Tuesday morning to take part in tbe meeting there, which will open on Thursday. At Opaki, yesterday morning, serviceable work was executed by the majority of horses in training there. Tbe plough gallop is very fast just now. Merrie Rose and Te Kanni went once round and rattled over tbe last four furlongs in fast time. Platypus put in a good round, and Royal Blue galloped a mile in good style, scotch Reel finished fast over a six furlongs oonrse, and Tangerine put in a mile at threequarter pace. Riflemald, Stepmar, Leber.oio, Mahuta, Submarine, Albany mare, Letherin, and Sandix performed usefal tasks. Moetoiopuku ran a mile at a fair pace, and Moloch got a similar disSanee at a little over half pace. R. '. Marr has both tbe latter in fine trim at present. Molcotvs next en- , gagement will be at tbe ft oodville meeting. W. Garrett has an addition to bis team,— a oheatnut mare by Albany. She shows plenty of style and quality, and will probably be ready to race at Christmas and New Year meetings. Betting on tbe Auokland Gap baa already begun, tbe favourite selections being—Multifld, Boomerang, Armistice, and Paritutu. Compared with tbe weights for tbe New Zealand Cup, Multifld and -firmistioe have been risen 15Ibs; while Pantutu has been lowered 31b. Letberin's weight (7st 101b) is 31b lees than be carried in tbe New Zealand Cup, and tbe Maaterton representative and Paritutu have certainly been well treated. Both should be pretty well by tbe end of tbe year, and are snre to be well supported by bHCkera during tbe next lew weeks. Among tbe bottom weights, Ouiragno (6st 71b) is worthy of attention. Tbe son of Cuirassier is a proved stayer, and has plenty of paee. Tbe list of candidates will be considerably - shortened on acceptance day, aa quite a number of horses bave been nominated which bave but remote obanoes of winning a iwo mile <event.
