EKETAHUNA STOCK SALES. Meßsrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., held their fortnightly sale at tbe Eketohuni yards on Friday, when there was a large entry of cattle, but only one line of sheep. There was a good attendance of buyers, all lines selling excepting two. Three-year steers realised 84s to 85s, 2>£ to 3year steers 62s to 755, 2 year steers 5Qs to 525, yearling steers 24s to 31s, mixed yearlings 24s 6d to 265, yearling heifers 17s 6d to 245, 2-year heifers 30s to 37s 6d, empty bows 20s, cows with oalves 303, 5-year bull 61s, empty broediog sows 245, good dlip pies 20s, weaners 13s. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agenoy Co., Ltd., report at their fortnightly stook sale at Eketahuna, yesterday:—Entries were limited only ewes and lambs , hoggets, a few cattle and small pigs oomiug forward. The first wool sales of the season were held to-day, 1,500 bales being offered by the various brokers. There was a large attendance of buyers. The wool as a whole was better grown than last year, tbo ugh heavy in grease. There had been some reason to fear that to day's sale would open badly owing to the low prices which had been offered privately for clips of crossbred wool, but prices went up to a high level, bigber even than vendors' ideas of current values. Halfbreds, of whioh there were only a small offering, were strongly sought for. Light Romney skirted sold up to and unskirted to lid.
