THE CAPE RAIDERS.
Received November 14, 8.30 a.m. CAPETOWN, November 13. The Gape Times says the raiders would uevar have ventured to attack the police without the assurauo§ of Boer support. The Cape Government has discovered that a considerable amount of pun running has been going on aoross the German frontier. A BRUSH WITH FERRIERA. REBELS RETIRE TO THE RUSH. FURIHER RAIDS EXPECTED. Received November 14, 10.41 p.m. CAPETOWN, November 14. Inspeotor White's patrol of 40 came in ooutaofc with Perriera, 14 miles oastward of Upmgton. After half-an-hour's firing Ferriera retired into thb bush. Inspeotor White returned to Upington owing to temporary illness. He made a start yesterday to intercept a second party of freebooters from the German border. A third party are advancing on Kakamas. Raids are expected Ht Vanwykssvlei, Brandvlei and Blockyynkelk, where there are quantities of unprotected stores, besides much harvested gram. Guardß have been posted at Kakauas Drift and Orange River to intercept any Bttempt on the part of the raiders to return to German territory. | Received November 14, 10 41 p.uj. CAPETOWN, November 14. The German commander at Klipdam informed the British camp at Biesjespoort on November 6th that Ferriera had intimated to the commander his intention to start a rebellion, adding that arms and ammunition taken from the Germans would be returned in a fortnight.
