ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
By Telegraph—Press Association. AUCKLAND, November 9. A fatal accident tonk place at St. Heliere Bay to-day, a lad Berated Arnold P. A'dearie, being |drowned. He was one of a yacbtag party of five, and was steering,, when the tiller broke and he was precipitated into the water. His body wan tak«n from the witer as it was sinking. Artificial respiration was tried for three, hours, bat without effeafc. Several narrow escapes from drowning also occurred in the har boar, to-day, several yachts. being capsized in consequence of equally weather. In one. oase a father and two daughters were out ima sailing boat when the boat capsized, and sank, leaving * the - top -ol the masß just oat of the water. The father olungjto the, mast while the daughters, neither of whom would swim, were kept afloat by their clothes until assistance arrived.
