WOMEN SUFFRAGISTS.
THE PRISON TREATMENT RELAXED. Received November 1, 9.5 a.m. LONDON, October 31. Two of the "suffragettes," who were oonviuted and imprisoned on charges of creating a disturbance have been released on fcbe ground of illhenitb. The rest of the women complained of the severity of the prison treatment. In response to questions iu Parliament and some popular outcry, the Government has directed the defendants to be treated as first-class misdemeanants.

MRS SANDERSON AND WOMAN'S RIGHTS. Reoeived November 2, 12.4 a.m. LONDON, November 1. Mrs Oobden Sanderson, on the ground that she is at war with the State as constitutor!, and would aocept'uothiug short of the rights due to all women as forming part of the people of England, refuses mitigation of the sentence passed on her.' The other "suffragettes" take a similar stand.
