Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report:-—Despite the inclemency of the weather considerably more stock came xorwaid than was advertised. In regard to this it is a matter for regret that inteudiing vendors will not take the trouble to advertise when by so doing they would greatly benefit by an enlarged attendance of outside buyers. Com- j petition for sheep was keen, and only one pen on which a somewhat prohibitive reserve was plaoed failed to .sell under the hammer. The bidding for cattle was good, and at times spirited, young cattle and grown steers especially being sought after. Altogether, we have to report a most successful sale, only a very few lots, consisting mostly uf ' aged oows and backward heifers, being turned out unsold. We quote:— P.m. shorn ewes 10s 7d to lls'Jd, hoggets (.medium) 12s Gd to 14s 7d, aged ewes and lambs (shorn) 17s, yearling steers 25s to 325, yearling heifers 27s Gd, mixed yearlings IGs 6d to 245, IS-month heifers £2,
