PRICE OF SILVER.
I Received October 16, 8.48 a.m. LONDON, Ootober 15. Silver is quoted at 2s per ounce—a further rise of %&. The improvement in the prloe is largely due to Washington purchasing for coinage purposes, whioh latterly have been averaging from two hundred thousand to a qaarter of a million ounces weekly. Moreover, an impending Frenoh order for a large quantity of silver is announced.
