Sheep are to be seen Bhorn here already, and most of the sheds are starting within two weeks, An ocoident, fortunately without any eerioua consequences. Befell Mr Coulter and a friend here, on Friday morning, when they were driving to Glenside Station. When passing over a email bridge on the other side of Mr Mason's property they met a man leading a mare and foal. Mr Coulter's horse suddenly shied oft the road, and oveftumed the gig. Both occupants were thrown heavily to the ground, and were picked up by Air O'D'ounell inn dazed condition ; but soon recovered from their somewhat sudden adventure. HI ho gig, which had the seat aud dash boards smashed, almost beyond repair, was taken to Mr Greathead's smithy, where temporary repairs were affected to enable them to return to Masterton. Mr W. C. Buchanan is having ten shearing machines erected in his shed for the coming season, and will no doubt he well repaid for bis outlay as time has proved that the machines are far ahead of tho shears. Ploughing operations ar« well ahead here this season. A largo area of oats is in cultivation, and looks very promising.
