WELLINGTON WOOL AND SKIN SALES.

The Ne* Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, report aa follows:—We submitted a gooo" catalogue of wool, sheepskins, bides and =allow, to a numerous attendance of buyers. The salo was brisk but prices for skius showed a drop on last sales rates at to per lb. HHea were firm at last sales prioes. Only bag lota of wool were offered consisting mostly of plucked wool whioh sold at full rates. Tallow is in good demand. We quote: Wool in sacks—Crossbred, dead, to 8d; crossbred, fleece, S%d to" 9K<3. Sheepskins—fine, 8d to crossbred, coarse, merino, to 7%rt; broken and inferior skins, 4>£d to 6dperlo; green skins, 6s Gd to 7s 9d each. Hides—Sound ox, to 6%; sound cow, 5%d to 6d; out and damaged bides, to s}.<; calf, sound, 6d to 6%d; damaged, 3d to 5d per lb. Tallow—No shipping lots offered. Medium quality in casks, 22s to 245; in tins, 18s 9d per cwt.

Messrs Levin and Company, Limited, report rs follows regarding their sale on Friday:—We offered a small oatalogue of wool, 1,800 skins, 560 bides and a quantity of tallow and horsehair. Wool—There was very little offering. We quote: Coarse crossbred, 7d to 8d; inferior and logstained, 6d to 6%d; pieces and bellies, 4}£d to s>£d; orutchings, good, b%i to 6d; seedy and inferior, ma to Skins—Prioes were a farthing lower. We quote: Merinos, 7}£d to 8d; fine crossbred, 8d toß>£d; coarse crossbred, 7%A to dead skins, to 7d; dead hpggets, 634 to 6%d; short wools, s}£d to 6d; lamb skins, 7d to 7%d; woolly green skins, 6s to 8s 3d: green lamb skinß, Is 6d to Is Bd. Tallow —Strong competition. Parcels in shipping order Bold at £25. Tins £lB to £l9. Rough fat, £l4 15s. Horsehair—ls 6d to Is 8d per lb. Horns, 7s to 20s per 100. HidesBidding was very keen and prices advanced still further to the extent of one farthing uer lb. We quote: Oxhides, extra heavy 7d tc 701bsand over, SOlba to 761b8, 6>£d to 6%d; cow hides, 501bsto 601bs, Gd to 6%d; 401bs to 501bs, 6d to calf skin, best, 7d to 7 ; %d; slippy, 3d to cut, sKdto6d; cut and slippy bides, stag hides, 4J£d to sd; bull bidfis, 3>£d to 4%d. The next sale will be held on the 26th October, 1906.
