DEPUTATION TO THE LATE DUMA. Reoeived October 11, 7.20 a.fh. ST. PETERSBURG, October 10. The proposed memorial to be presents t<\the late Duma by the British deputation is causing much comment in Russia. The British residents here strongly objeot to the presentation of the memorial at the present junoture. The Russian reactionaries threaten violent counter demonstrations. The Italian deputation is expeoted to reach here simultaneously with the British deputation. The Council of Professors of the St. Petersburg University, by 20 to 16 votes, resolved to entertain the British deputation. THE PREMIER'S OPINION. Received Ooober 11, 9.22 p.m. ST. PETERSBURG, October 11. M. Stolypin states that the Jiritish memorial to the Duma is likely to unfavourably influence the gropingly cordial relations of the two Empires, MEMBERS WITHDRAW. Received October 11, 7.46 a.m. ST. PETERSBURG, October 10. Mr Smeaton, a member of the House of Commons, has withdrawn from the deoutation. Messis EvansGordon and W. T. Stead and others recommend the abandonment of the memorial. "FUSSY NOBODIES." f Received October 11, 8.30 a.m. LONDON, Ootober 10. The Daily Telegraph declares that the majority of the signatures to the memorial would doubtless repudiate jts presentation by suoh fussy nobodies. \ STATEMENT BY THE PREMIER. Received Ootober 11, 8.30 a.m. ST. PETERSBURG, Oot.'lO. M. Stolypin, the Russian Premier, in the course of an intervew, stated that even if a hostile Duma, whioh is to meet on February 20tb, was returned it would be permitted to assemble, but if its attitude was similar to that of the first Duma it would be dissolved. The prerogatives of the Crown and the fundamental laws ought to be respected. The Premier added that the Zemstvos, whioh until recently formed the stronghold of the Opposition, were beginning to approve the Government policy. . INDISCRIMINATE SHOOTING. Received Ootobar 11, 8.50 a.m. ST. PETERSBURG, Oct. 10. During a review of troops prior to the Ozar's cruise several bullets passed close to bis Majesty and members of the Imperial staff. TERRORISTS COURT MARTIALLED. Received Ootober 11, 9.40 a.m. ST. PETERSBURG, Oot. 10. ' Five Terrorists, who were courtmartialled at Lodz, were shot today. All the operatives and tramway bands at Lodz have struck as a protest against the drumhead court martial. REVOLUTIONARIES ARRESTED. Received Ootober 11, 9.37 p.m. LONDON, Ootober 11. At Vilna the polioe arrested 23 revolutionaries, chiefly soldiers, who were trying to corrupt the army. COSSACKS CHARGE A MOB. | MANY PEOPLE WOUNDED. | Reoeived Ootober 11, 9.37 p.m. ST.
