(From Our Own Correspondent.)
A ball was held on the sth inst. in aid oi the Catholic Church painting fund, and was a decided success in every way. There were sixty couples present, but a far larger number of tickets were sold. The hall was tastefully decorated with evergreens, bunting and clematis flowers, and the stage represented a drawing room. The secretary, Mr N. O'Kane and the committee are deserving of a special word of praise for the manner in which they worked to make tne gathering a success. Mrs T. Crawford wno attended to the decorations was congratulated for her artistic work. Dean McKenna, who was present, thanked the doners, and said that ne was very pleased to see such kindly feeling existing among the people. Miss O'Malley supplied the music and the playmg of this young lady was much admired. The M.'sC. Messrs F.C.V O'Connor and P- Coogan carried out the duties in a capable manner.
