WELLINGTON LAND BOARD.
An adjourned meeting ol tho Land Board was lield in the Diatnot Land and'Survoy Office on Thursday, when there were present Mr John Strauchon, Commissioner of Crown Lands (m the •chair), Mr J. Stevens, M.H.R., Messrs A. Eeese, T. H. Robinson, and J. Dawson. Mr Bellies attended on behalf ot Mrs Belliss, lessee of section 1, block 15, Mangapnkeha (Longdate settlement), and seated that they were going back to too section, but they could not got access to it through the piece of land <jut off the section and given to _Mr Lennie soma years ago.—lt was decided that the Board had no power to interfere in the matter. ' In regard to the question of £75 insurance on the house recently burned down, the applicant was informed that when the now house was 'finished, tho question of paying over the money will bo dealt with. Transfers were approved on tho usual conditions as lollows: Section 86, block Tararua, A. Syvorson to E. J. "Whyto; section 2, block 6, Tararua, G. Clcvely to H. Bond;' section 8. block 2, Mount Cerberus, J. Rice to A. Porteous; sections 52 unci 53, Horowhenua Village Settlement, P. Anderson to J. EmS wistle; section 12, block 4, Mangaone, B. E. Stone-Wigg to P. M. Lewis; section 100, block 2, Kopuaranpra, G. P. Day to 0. Waglund; section S.jblock 4, Tararua, P. McOnie to J. N. Swann ; section 133, block 3. Mang»haq. estate ofT. Heard to T.Ehy; part of section 3, block 1, Aohanga, A. Talley to J'. Harris, junr.; section 22, block 4, Mikirai.ki, A. A. Harris to \V. T. Waterson; section 15, block 3, Makuri, R. lioay to L. C. Barron ; section 2 unci4, block 11, Mikimiki, executor in the estato of D. and E. Falconer, to J. Gunther. Mr J. W. Palerson applied to transfer section 7, block 9, Tararua, to tho Rev. James Paterson.—Approved ; residence by the transferee to be exempted for the | time being. Mc B. Beay applied to transfer section 51, block 16, Makuri, to Mr L. B. Barren.—Approved. Mrs A; Beay applied to transfer section 14, block 3, Makuri, to Mr L. B. Barron.— Approved. Mr A. M. Berry applied to sublet section 19, block 6, Tararua, to Messrs Quinlnn and Fopplcwa.ll fo? five years at an annual rental of £7o.—Resolved toapprovo clauses! to 4 inclusive, as well as the rental and terms. MrU. T. P. lluttot, lessee of section 3, block 4, Hnnrangi (Dyer eetfclemont) applied to have pnrt of the boundary line botwee'u that section and section 7 near the southeast corner amended to' avoid extra fencing.—lt was resolved that the request could not be a«re;rt to, as the portion of the flat land proposed to be cut nut was specially kept on the section as a place for the. homestead and she^p-yarda. Mr F. C. .Rhodes applied to he allowed to re-let part of section 21, block 7, Makuri, and pointed oat that to givj part of bis holding to Mr Conway wonld cut off his access to tho Makairu road.—lt was resolved to rescind the previous resolution, and allow the matt.r to stand , over pro tern. A report was received from tho Crown Lands Ranger on section 11, block 13, Scarborough, at present leased to Messro Noriell and Murrny, whose lease will soon expire.—lt was resolved to invite tenders for a new lease of seven years at an upaßt rental of 10a por.annnm, subject to the usual conditions. Mr T. Stone wrote aeking that sections 12 and 13, blocks 11 and 27, Makuri, be offered to public competition.—lt was decided not to deal with the land at present. A report was received from the Crown Lands Ranger on Messrß S. and VV. Priest's application for part of the Crown lauds, about 160 acres, adjoining section 8, block 9, Tararua. The application was not approved of. A report was received from the Crown Lands Hanger on Messrs MoKae's request "to be allowedy to muster sheep off the unleaded Rewa State Forest Reserve. The rangej's recommendations were approved subject to satisfactory arrangements being made with Mr Gifford and > other adjoining neighbours. It was resolved not to arant a request that certain lands on block V, Miki Miki, should be handed over to the Wellington School Commissioners. A request by Mr T. F. Evans for an alteration ot bis boundaries between certain sections on block 1, Waipawa, was declined. It was decided to recommend that section 58, blook 10, Mangabao should be set aside as a scemo re- . serve. It was resolved under the special circumstances to accept Mr A. Petersen's payment ot balauce of'the purchase money for section 5, block 4, Weinuioru. It was resolved to nsk Miss F, M. MoPhail to explain why her bouse had been let and to state wbon she would permanently occupy it. Other matters in regard to the holdings of the following persons were alwo dealt with:—M. B. Hislop, Aohanga; J. Darlington, Puketoa; Mrs F. Dunn, Aohanga; O. Lund, Mangabao.
