BRITISH MINERS' FEDERATION.
LONDON, October 4. Details of the Minors' Federation ballot, which decided against joining the Labour Representation Committee—an abstention equal to twothirds of the Labour votes—show that 101,714 were against the proposal and 92,222 in favour. The majority of the Scottish and Welsh miners favoured joining the committee, but England turned the scales through the influence of Notts, Derbyshire, nnd Midlands. The consensus of opinion is that the committee has received for the time being a decided check.
