IN SEARCH OF TREASURE.
LONDON, Ootober 5. It is reported that the German Government has informed the Cape authorities that the Xema syndicate, whioh is seeking treasure on a certain vaguely located island off the west coast of Africa, intended to use Guano island as a base fur a secret prospecting expedition in Damaraland, where it is believed diamonds abound. The syndicate denies that it has any such intention.
