The Committee of the Star Oricbet Olab met last night, when matters in connection with the opening of the Benson were disaussed. it was decided to piny a match witb the W.F.CJ.A. Criobet Club, oa the Schoolground, on Thursday next. In connection with tbe championship competitions it was decided to enter one senior tearr and two junior teams. The following now members were elected:—Messrs Marchant, Kommers, Kingdon, MoKellar, Prow, Nixon, Townsend, Reynolds and Olayson. A resolution was passed that the Thursday Criobet Association should, in order to encourage criobet, endeavour to arrange with tbe Carterton Criobet Club to form h branch of the Association in ftio South Wairarapn. The new horse lawn mower and roller combined, to be used on the Park Oval, was received by tbe Mascertoo Borough Council, yesterday. Ihe new machine should bo welcomed by criabeters, as tbe grass on the Oval in future will be kept closely cut.
