MASTERTON LICENSING COMMITTEE.

——♦ SPECIAL. MEETING. A snecial meeting of the Mnstartou Licensing Committee was held yesterday. Thero wore present —Mr W. P. James, S.M. f(obairmau), C. E. Danieil and E. McEwen. ££Plnns were submitted for tho new Empire Hotel, Masterton. The plans were approved of. Mr Pownall pointed out that any alterations in the plans required by tho lessee would be given effect to. The plans provide fora brick building with a frontage of 45 feet and a depth of 132 feet. On the application of Mr Pownall tho license for the hotel was granted until June next. With regard to tho Marine Hotel, Whakataki, the Committee decided to allow the licensee a free hand in renovating the hotel. Tho license was granted until the annual meeting of the Committee.
