MISSIONARY SALE. \ The flret annual Ycung People's Missionary Sale in connection witb the Masterton Methodist Oburcb was opened in the School room, yesterday afternoon, by the Rev. J. N. Battle. The object of the sale is to create au interest in missionary work among the young people of the charoh, and the will be divided between the Homo and foreign Micsion l ( unds. There were in all six stalls containing numerous articles of produce, fanoywork, and flowers. In the stalls, which were deoorated with an abundance of green foliage, the various articles for sale were tastefully arranged. The whole presented a very pleasing appearance, and rofleoted groat credit on the promoters of the sale. The stallholders weie as follow:—Fancy Stall: Airs F. C. Dauiell and Miss Daniel!. Fancy Stall: Misses Dean, fleyhoe, Prentice and members of the Young Ladies' Bible Clas-i. Confectiouery Stall: Misses Elliott, E. Darnell, and G. Buttle. Flower Stall: Misses Berriman and Wellington. Produce Stall: Messrs A. B. Dsniell and Mannell. Fairy Well: Miss Church. Refreshment Room: Mesdames A. Donald and G. Boagey. Throughout the afternoon the attendance at the sale was fairly large, bat it increased considerably in ibe evening. The takings in the evening amounted to £4O. Selections were given by an orchestra, composed of Messrs S. Ralph (conductor), G. Stewart, J. Barrett, senr., J. Oaady, H. Inns and R. Button. Mr J. <Jandy gave a clarionet solo, Master J. Handy accompanying him on the piano. The sideshows included "conjuring and magic" (Messrs U Minifle and S. Creeswell) and the wondersoope (Mr 13. Miller).
